MFA changes (2023 February 16) §
Later this month, Central IT will be adding to the oneline services that require MFA. So (a), don't be surprised when that happens, but (b) this makes it very important to observe good practice when using ‘generic login’ computers.

Migrating ‘school unix’ accounts (2019 July 31) §
We plan to transfer ‘school unix’ accounts from our current ‘legacy’ system to a new more supportable system. In the process, we want to filter out a number of now-derelict accounts, some of which are using non-trivial amounts of disk space.
Email migration (2019 March 20) §
Mail accounts in various domains, including @glasgow.ac.uk and
@research.gla.ac.uk are being migrated to Office365 at the beginning
of next week: Tuesday 26 March. This should be straightforward, but people using IMAP
servers (ie, everyone who isn't using Exchange) may have to do some
manual reconfiguration.

Rationalising email aliases (2016 December 2) §
Thank you, everyone, for your forbearance during the recent reorganisation of
the email aliases on the school mail system – that is, the @physics.gla.ac.uk
addresses (the @astro.gla.ac.uk system and addresses have not so far been
touched).
